The CPCU Society is a community of credentialed risk management and property-casualty insurance professionals who promote excellence through ethical behavior and continuing education. The Society's more than 22,000 members hold the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) designation, which requires passing rigorous undergraduate- and graduate-level examinations, meeting an experience requirement, and agreeing to be bound by a strict code of professional ethics. The CPCU designation is conferred by The Institutes.
Founded in 1944, the CPCU Society, through continuing education and volunteer leadership opportunities, is dedicated to meeting the career development needs of its diverse membership, so that they may serve others in a competent and ethical manner.
